Powerboat Training

  • 7.2m Power Boat with 175hp Engine
  • Learn how to handle a power boat at low and planing speeds
  • Discover how to secure a boat to a buoy
  • Learn how to leave and come alongside a marina
  • Understand basic navigation and passage planning
  • Learn the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS)
  • Minimum Age: 12 (Under 18 – Must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Duration: 2 days (Accommodation Not Included)
  • Maximum student to instructor ratio: 3:1

Course Content

The RYA Power Boat Level 2 syllabus is taught in a ratio of 3:1 students to instructor and covers the following:

  • Close quarters boat handling
  • Planing speed manoeuvres
  • Man overboard recovery
  • Collision regulations
