D13A – Basic training for oil tanker and chemical tanker cargo operations ( STCW V/1-1-1)

Basic training for oil tanker and chemical tanker cargo operations course provides training for officers and rating assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo and cargo equipment on tankers. Course includes a familiarization training programme tailored to meet duties and responsibilities of seafarers on oil and chemical tankers, including characteristics of tanker cargoes, hazards associated, safety measures, pollution preventing guidelines, emergency operations, cargo equipment and operations.

Following a successful completion of the Basic training for oil tanker and chemical tanker cargo operations course trainees will be competent to:

  • Contribute to the safe cargo operation of oil and chemical tankers
  • Take precautions to prevent hazards
  • Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures
  • Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment

Course duration: 47 hours (5 days)

D13A – Basic training for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations certificate is valid for 5 years.
